Where am I?
Call me Will. About 3 months ago, never mind how long precisely, I began my studies at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) in Liberal Studies, with minors in Philosophy and International Relations. My hope that the Chinese language (中文) courses I'm taking will mesh well with these two minors.
UMSL provides an exciting opportunity here because of its large number of international students. The Chinese program encourages its students to set up meetings with an exchange student from China. These meetings are mutually beneficial: I improve my Chinese while my partner improves his English. Meanwhile, we're both having a good time and learning a little bit about each other's culture.
I hope to describe my experience here, both as an UMSL student and, more specifically, a foreign language student, in an interesting and thought-provoking way. I look forward to participating as a member in the Vox community and I hope that this will be an experience that we can all learn from.
